DR. ALISHA ANDRASHEWSKI

Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Alisha Andrashewski was born and raised in the rural community of Viking, Alberta. Seeking a change from rural living, she decided to step out of her comfort zone and pursue dental school at NYU College of Dentistry in New York City. In her program, she was privileged to treat patients of diverse cultural backgrounds and was actively involved in hospital dentistry. In her spare time, she engaged in extracurricular dental school activities such as NYU’s Pediatric Club and an after-school mentorship program for junior high students of low socioeconomic areas. As a fourth-year dental student, she also participated in a dental outreach in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she worked as part of a team to provide dental care to the local children.

After graduating dental school in 2019, Dr. Alisha pursued a pediatric dental residency at University at Buffalo/Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY. During her two years in Buffalo, she adapted to the local culture by becoming an NFL fan (Go Bills!) as well as a buffalo chicken wing connoisseur. During residency, Dr. Alisha treated children under all levels of sedation, patients presenting with significant dental trauma, and a number of diverse populations, including refugees from Burma and Somalia.

After completing residency in summer of 2021, Dr. Alisha decided to end her 6-year U.S. adventure and head back home to Alberta. When not practicing dentistry, you can find Dr. Alisha helping her family on their farm, preparing Ukrainian meals with her grandparents and younger cousins, gardening, and curling. She is very excited to be back in Alberta and have the opportunity to treat patients at Children’s Dental Centre!
